This includes Audio recording and reproduction (records, tapes, cassettes, cartridges, CDs), Broadcasting Media (Radio, Television, Cable) Film (Cinema, DVDs), Digital Media (the Internet, Mobile Phones, Satellite), Publishing or the Print Media (Books, Newspapers, Magazines) and Video games.

The Audio recording and reproduction pertains to the various music and sound media. Back in the day, there are only basic kinds of audio equipments such as microphones, recording devices and loudspeakers. Then, it was followed by tape recorders, and the legendary vinyl LP record. Internet is a powerful type of Mass Media. The world is now a global village because of the internet. You can now obtain countless up-to-date information and services worldwide and you can send up-to-the-minute messages in just a split second through electronic mail (e-mail), online chat, and browsing to loads of web pages and other documents.

I'm sure you'll have heard poker stories like this before...

A gambler is so much into a game but ends up having a bad streak. He loses his cool and is desperate to make a comeback, convinced that the next hand will be THE hand to make him. So there he is, with no more money to put on the table. What does he do? He bets something else of value.

Remember the latest James Bond flick, which I actually labeled a poker movie in an article just recently? Remember that poker game between that Greek guy and Agent 007? The other guy bets his car, sure that he would win. I think it was an Alfa Romeo, I am not sure, my memory is a bit hazy (all I can remember is Daniel Craig as James Bond). Anyhow, Bond wins the hand and the car, of course.

A Russian man lost his wife in a game of cards after putting her up as a stake instead of cash. Andrei Karpov, from Murmansk, had run out of money in a game of poker and offered his opponent his wife instead of cash to stay in the game.

When Karpov lost the game and his opponent, Sergey Brodov, turned up to claim his winnings, his wife Tatiana was so angry she decided to divorce her husband and started a relationship with Brodov.

She has since married Brodov, and said she does not regret leaving her first husband.

She said: "It was humiliating and I was utterly ashamed. But as soon as my ex-husband did that I knew I had to leave him.

"Sergey was a very handsome, charming man and I am very happy with him, even if he did 'win' me in a poker game."

Talk about crazy! In this day and age you would think that putting up a person as your stake wouldn't be possible! When you think about it, though, the whole thing sounds hilarious, doesn't it? I mean it irks me that a guy would bet his wife as if he "owned" her (as if a person can actually own another person). Then again, the wife leaving him and marrying the other guy - I'm sorry but this just sounds like something out of a soap opera, or something from the Middle Ages!

No wonder people who aren't into poker see it in a negative light most of the time. When they hear or read news such as this, their eyes probably pop out in wonder, or maybe they shake their head in dismay. Then again, this happened in Russia, where norms may be quite different from that of the US or other European countries. It makes me think of Borat, you know that "Khazakstan journalist."? It's like something he would do. I hope that I haven't offended anyone with my musings in this article. I just found it really hilarious.

So guys, next time you decide to put up your wife as a bet, make sure that you win. Otherwise, you might just find yourself in the divorce courts!

1. Manage Your Time During Your CPA FAR Exam Study

Time management is critical for CPA FAR exam given the huge amount of volume you will need to study and review for this particular section. While it depends on your knowledge in the financial accounting concepts, I generally recommend at least 3 months to prepare for this exam. Most people with some knowledge in accounting (which you should with all the education requirements) can finish the coursework within 6-8 weeks. This would leave enough time for you to catch up, or better yet, to devote the last month in working intensely on the practice tests.

2. Seek Help In Scheduling Your FAR Coursework

The FAR exam is like Lake Superior of one-inch deep: while the amount of materials looks overwhelming, the exam neither gets too difficult nor goes into too much details.

This is excellent news because it means that candidates usually can pass the exam if they have ample time to study and prepare for it. This also means that a CPA exam review course is especially helpful for FAR because the guided review makes sure you cover all the grounds.
